![]() | World War Z ideas for maps I made an account after TheRussianLord told me that my ideas could be posted on Pollama.com, so i decided to post the following ideas for maps and see the potential replies. First of all i should state that i am not a map maker and that anyone can just use these ideas for whatever, just dont make it a tacky map. My first idea map would be called: After Yonkers, or something similar. It would take place in New York City and would involve twelve players (two zombies and 10 human slots.) The idea would be to get north with your small group of survivors, each player would have maybe 3-5 guys and potentially find more. A major theme of the game would be the melee combat. Guns/Ammunition are rare so be prepared to use forks, knifes, swords, fireaxes, fire hoses and other improvised melee weapons. While guns such as pistols and rifles could be found, this would be rare and if you are lucky to find a military model, then Kudos to you! The three central objectives are: get supplies, find a car/ fuel the car, and get north. Supplies would include gas, clothing and food. i would not expect this to be a squad survival like Night of the Dead on WIII, more like a half survival, half melee map. Both can be often boring. As for the zombie player, it would be a good idea to make these human players, for two reasons: to prevent comp stupidity and to add a more strategic element to the zombies. Perhaps Npcs in the form of other civilians fighting the zombies, areas such as streets and town centers should be crowded with these people fighting zombies as well as fleeing, thereby making it dangerous to navigate through obvious routes. The types of Zombies could be the following: Zombie:a normal zombie guy, slow to move, slow to hit, higher damage and hp then humans. Crawler: these zombies lost legs and move VERY SLOWLY but are invisible when not moving. Perhaps add a random chance that normal zombies can lose legs under fire, and hence become these. Zombie on fire: when exposed to certain weapons zombies could go on fire and hurt all around them. Qusiling: a faster and more powerful zombies, but it doesnt infect. Infection; i think that for the sake of gameplay, zombie should not infect until the individual targeted is near the end of its lifebar. otherwise it makes for a chessy run and shoot game. i also think that guns should have an accuract rating based on how long the person has stood still for, perhaps reaching full accuracy(and hence headshots) when not moving for five seconds. This is the gist of my ideas at the time, i hope other will add to so that this can possibly be made into a map. Alternate scenario; with the same theme and idea -the escape north etc, one could do a scenario invovling the Battle of the Five colleges, this map would be more defense orientated, but otherwise the same idea. Why dont you just play afterlife its got most of what you just said. A zombie player would just pull all his forces back and mass them into a giant mob which will be unstoppable. A quisling is a human that thinks hes a zombie. In the book it said that the quislings were eating by the zombies because they could tell somehow so its really not that accurate to the book. A zombie on fire would melt in any conditions i mean you are still talking about the anatamy of a human even if its blood was congealed he would take signification damage. Please explain a little longer on how zombies will spawn, If there will be any neutral unit which you can pick up along the way, And some of the basic human weapons. ![]() | Re: World War Z ideas for maps Unfortunatly i could not read this for several days, still to tie this up, i was unaware that anyone else had ideas for this map, (first post) and Quislings are humans true, one could figure the zombie killing them aswell, (maybe a player could be strictly quislings though i doubt it would be a popular choice) I am aware that the idea is half baked,I hoped people could help fill it in with their commentary (pessimists welcome ) Thank you for the reminder, i will now post idea threads, (likely adding my thoughts instead) in the new map section. I figured my idea would be different in that it would be a bit of a mix between survivals and melee maps, i had no intention of copying ideas from other maps and was unaware of the game that was mentioned existed, thanks for reading. |

Ive mroe or less run out of ideas for it and am tired of my own imput... any suggestions would probly see the release of wwz america soon... and I also plan on releasing a german translated version of it for the euro server ^^. |
