Halak.......no that will never work....before the worlds oil turned to 20% scientists would be hard pressed to make synthetic oil.

Re: Oil

Why synthetic oil? It's so much cheaper to just use hydrogen fuel cells. Also keep in mind, despite popular belief, the worlds oil supply is not running dry, it's juts becoming more expensive to extract it from places like Siberia, or the Arctic. What is running out is easily accessible oil supplies.

Re: Oil

I forgot about hydrogen but it wouldnt be mass produced in a time like this. I doubt we will switch over to hydrogen for some time, due to the cost of converting the entire worlds tranportation system.

Re: Oil

Ethanol is a load of bullsh*t. Converting corn into ethanol produces more pollution then burning gasoline in a car engine. As for oil, it will still be plentyful for probably around 100 years at least. It'll just become more and more expensive, and as it does more and more people will switch to hybrid cars, and eventually Hydrogen cars.

Re: Oil

you are thinking about another 100 years when the oil dries up the reason we are spending so much for oill now is because it funds the war.
Most Americans use cars and they all fill up on a gas.
all of Europe and the countrys in europe have token army's which means they are really non existant thats why we have hte un so they can combine into a sizable force.
America spends over 10billion dollars a year on the army.
WE wont have a oil droupt in at least 100 years and by then we would start sending nukes due to the last drops of reservations oil.
I mean russia actually had the balls to send falgs allover alsaka and claim it is theres when we bought it from them and its more on the denmark site.
No offense Russian but things between the us and Russia are going to start heating up.

The world didn't use much of the Arctic oil supply. Pretty much none at all. It used African and South American, and Middle Eastern oil supplies, yes, but not Arctic.

That is one reserve, there is a lot of oil in sibera and such because it has been imposable and expensive to reach for a long time.

And some ecological effects I believe, there's a few very beautiful and environmentally protected sites in Siberia that have deep sources of oil. Theres some lake that has a really deep source that they've found out but it's environmentally protected.
