![]() | Question about boats, and how to. I want to do a map with boats, mostly for learning purposes at this point. Could anyone point out how I would go about doing this? I'm using the NewGen world editor, and I've gotten to the point where I've created a custom unit that looks like a ship, moves somewhat like a ship, and 'floats' (flies) in the water. The problem is that it's actually a flying unit. How do I keep it in the water? Actually, it's a question more directed at King Leopold... could you share your method for creating boats, as in broken alliances? My only thought is to create pathing blockers everywhere around the body of water, and certain beach like areas where you can build docks. Any help would be appreciated, and if I missed something obvious on the forums, I apologize. I did search, and I can't find anything related to what I want. |

![]() | Re: Question about boats, and how to. Ah, well King used TFT to make boats for ROC, i think. But i've seen a map where what you do is put a regeion on all the coasts, and make it so if a boat goes in that region it sinks. More realistic, but a pain in the butt. |

If not move to nearest water. ^ I don't think there is a native for that. Probably gotta have do some so checking like - I don't know - make a farm that requires to be placed on water yet can be placed on cliffs (disable pathing). The only problem with that idea is the deep sea. How to check for that... Hmm... Hey wait a sec! Can you select placement requirements on RoC? EDIT: Nope. Well I attached my idea what I meant. Try build a farm with the peasant and you will see you can't place it no where else the water. But meh that would of course not work in RoC <.< I will try see what I can make up...

![]() ![]() | Re: Question about boats, and how to. the way he got it to work with roc was just useing a ship from tft. his maps are made with tft then he changes them to roc maps so he can use most TFT features in roc maps. basicly any thing tft can do just not tft models, and floating text. so you could buy tft 2 fix your problem |
