What's your favorite hero?

I mean in the actual warcraft melee maps. I didn't make a poll because there are too many for me to list and I actually want reasons why.

My favorite hero is the warden. First creep until she reaches level 2 or higher. Then learn fan and blink. Then find the enemy base and try to attack their gold source. Wait for the hero and his army to leave the base defenseless. Then start attacking workers or the entangled gold mine. Soon the main army returned and then leave. This is bad again humans because of towers. I try almost anything to get rid of the workers in the gold mine. If they don't have units that can see invisible units then take advantage of the hide ability. Then blink your way out and recover at the nearest moon well. If you were able to do it or not. Usually the person would know prepare for another attack. Now finish creeping and make expansions. Then build an army and kill them. It's a great hero against noobs.

that or lesser minds copy great minds to get another post and sound like greater minds?

anyways, my favorite hero of all time is the mountain king (notice my name) he has good spells, a damage spell, a passive bash spell, an AoE damage spell, and his ultimate makes him a MORE powerful melee hero. (and dwarves rule!)

Re: What's your favorite hero?

For the other races. My favorite heroes would have to be

Paladin for Humans because he can heal your units, give them more armor, and he's hard to kill because of his ability to become invulnerable. And even if your units die. You can just revive them.

Farseer for orcs because I like to rush with raiders early on and his spell that lets you see far away really helps in finding their base early.

Death Knight for Undead. Pretty much the same reason for Paladin. Can heal units, make them recover faster and move faster, and is hard to kill. Not only that but during a battle. His Ultimate can really change the battle around.

i like using the death knight to make invulnerable taurens, mountain giants, chimaeras, or shamans. (because of bloodlust!)

Re: What's your favorite hero?

See now I'm wondering if you just post for the sake of posting in this topic. Everyone knows that you use death knights ultimate when there are knights, taurans, etc are around. But to people who really play ladder matches. They know that flying units don't make corpses so his Ultimate would not work on them. Also if you did use the death knight's Ultimate. You would also know that any unit that comes back to life does not have their old abilities with them.

I come to know that I'm starting to like all the heroes. When used right they are all really good and fun to use.

My Favourite hero would have to be the Far seer for the orcs
He's got far sight so u can spy on the soon to be attacked enemy base plus he's got his own bodyguards the spirit wolves so when ur attacking another base summon the wolves and use them to attack from behind or disrupt the enemy by attacking archers and spell casters. this is what a good hero iis.

Re: What's your favorite hero?

Matters what race i am.
Undead-Lich or Crypt Lord. Lich has got frost nova which pwns early(againest gold miners) and can help alot late game. Plus with D&D he can kill a whole base while using some abomination fodder and some meat wagons to help tear apart the buidlings. Crypt is good tank in beging(i get impale or spiked carapace) and with impale he can stun and damage the gold miners. Locusts are good mid game cause they heal him and hurt enemies.

Humans-Blood Mage or Mountain King. Mage has flame strike used againest creeps and gold miners, banish can stop an enemy or help your hero escape(id mention Siphon mana but we all know what it does). Phoenix is great late game with an army cause it will never die, unless targeted by a ww or it dies in enemy lines. King is good vs mages and other heroes and can use storm bolt or clap in begining. Avatar is great vs hero targeters or just killing a weakened enemy.

Re: What's your favorite hero?

I really like all the undead heroes. They all have such great abilites that I would take an entire page listing all my fav's about em.
For Orcs its the Tauren Lord. I like this two attack abilites and reincaration is awesome.
For humans, probably the Paladin, because of healing and his ultimate is pretty cool.
And for Elves, probably the Demon Hunter because Mana burn is fun to use and his ultimate can do some good.

Re: What's your favorite hero?

I have to agree with undead heroes except death knight. Hes only got a heal or allys and himself. Plus the animate dead but its not that good in FT.

Elves-Priestess or Keeper. Priestess has aura and arrows that are a good combo to boost her damage and ally ranged units(ancient of war units are ranged) damage. Keeper has aura that helps some, can summon tree allys which can help alot if you are low on units and tranquility pwns in big battles. Plus entangle for heroes.

Re: What's your favorite hero?

I agree with Hellshadowhound but i can add some points about Keeper. His Tranquility is best used after or before a great battle, when all your troops are wounded badly, because the enemy woul be likely to disable your Keeper when he is using his Tranquility. However, his Force of Nature can destroy enemy lumber resources.(but it is totally useless against night elves, because they DON'T destroy trees when harvesting lumber. But in the enemy base,u have many wounded troops, the Tranquility ability would be useful when there are no enemy troops. His Entangling Roots can disable enemies for a long time

Good point just for the record i havent played a ladder game in a while(like 3 months) but you do have a good point mountain kings and crypt fiends have a tendency to target spell channelers

The neutral heroes are also very useful. I once underestimated a tinker and some of my major buildings suffered for it.

Wish I can say that every through all that I won. But I lost.

Re: What's your favorite hero?

My favorite hero is Illidan, not because it is the best on melee maps, but because of the campaing, I always liked his history and I sometimes like to use him and win some missions of the campaing only with him (no other units) just for fun... as for melee maps, he kinda sux in my opinion, because any of his habilities is AoE (except for imolate, but too small area and damge) and he doesn't have buffs/auras/heal. In that case, I prefere death knight because of aura, heal and ultimate... and also because he is a cool character.

Re: What's your favorite hero?

If...

I'm human then it's the Paladin because he can take some damage and yet still be pretty much a supporter.

I'm orc then it's the Tauren Chieftain because his War Stomp stuns, Endurance Aura is grand, and Reincarnation is...economical.

I'm night elf then its...a neutral hero from a tavern, or Warden.

I'm undead then it's one of the three melee heroes. Dreadlord for Vampiric Aura and Inferno, Death Knight for Death Coil and Animate Dead, and Crypt Lord for, everything.

I'd say my favorite of all time is a tie between Crypt Lord and Tauren Chieftain. Crypt Lord has Impale which stuns in a line, Spiked Carapace which is great since he's melee, Carrion Beetles which is okay, and Locust Swarm which heals him while hurting others. Tauren Chieftain has Endurance Aura which is simply great, especially with Taurens and Shaman with bloodlust, War Stomp which stuns, Shockwave which does a line of damage (helpful in tight spots), and Reincarnation which saves your wallet.

Re: What's your favorite hero?

Hmmm theres a lot of great heroes but I'll have to go with Archsage.
When he uses his Blizzard he can summon Water Elementals to guard him also that he could regenerate mana to get those spells back. Last and not least his ultimate spell can be a surprise attack and completely own when you got so many units ^^
