My cousins and I MST3Ked it in the theater, albeit quietly so that we didn't disturb the rest of the people. There were so many ****ing plot holes (Saphira growth, and Brom getting to Durza's dungeon) and the battle sucked.

Actually yes wulf, there was nothing that wrong with the movie, it just really annoyed true Shurtugul fans because its so different from the book (in a bad way)

Nothing wrong aside from the huge plot holes, crappy battles...the only good thing was the CGI dragon. LOTR movies were similar of course, but oh so much better done. But I guess that's what you get when you put a special effects guy as a director.

Well like I said, people who hadn't read the book thought the movie was great, which it was... From a non-reader's point of view. I read the book, so I thought the movie was really bad in comparison.

Well I haven't read much of the books (just random parts) and I thought the movie was so bad that it was funny...it had good special effects, but the screenwriters should take a nice long vacation from their jobs...cause they failed. Either that or the director failed. Or the actors, aside from Irons. If you watch LOTR, a Hitchcock film, or any other excellent movie you'll see why cinematically the Eragon movie is an utter piece of ****.

Atreides. From now on, you can post your opinion on the eragon movie. But please don't post about the Inheritance trilogy until you at least read Eragon. I know this is not really applying to you from that previous post but it popped into my mind that you post in the Inheritance trilogy thread, which is great, but you need to read at least Eragon, and I suggest Eldest also. Otherwise, your not helping the discussion with only bits and pieces...

Yes it was quite bad if you already read the book, but my lil brother loved it. Maybe the movie was made for younger children. Not that smart i'd say because they don't read books that much, but well this way you trick them into going to the film.

Darkwulv said it best. i thought the book series was GREAT, really great writing, great plot, great story in general. when i saw the movie, i could hardly belive how bad it was. i was so looking forward to seeing it. Even Jeremy Irons let me down.......And please back me up here.....they killed the Razac? WTF!?!?!?!?!? that is like a complete DUH. wtf? now what are they going to do if they make a second one? they will have to make a complete new story line...

I watched it a second time just to give it a fair chance and it acctually wasn't bad when you aren't expecting the stuff from the book. The movie's acting was so bad it was painful to watch though....The actress who voiced Saphira is a great actress usually, and i think the writer of the movie was some kind of idiot....the stuff she had to say was horrible. The worst line to me was, "I am Saphira, and you are my rider" WTF?!! that line is like from a preschool kids novel....the movie bugged me...a lot...but the books are great!!!!

Jeremy Irons was the sole saving grace of the movie. And Garrett Hedlund (or however you spell it) for the girls. The actress that played Katrina would have done for the boys, but they cut her out of the film...and lets continue the books conversation in the topic about the books, ok?
