![]() ![]() ![]() | The Truth Behind Applesnacks Discovered Today I Was Looking Through The "Applesnacks" code. If none of you have heard of it, well now you have. Applesnacks had many rumors, some said Applesnacks made your hero gain Experience Faster, others just use it for no reason. Well while looking at the trigger, I finally discovered the truth. It refers to the trigger named "Setup". At the very bottom of the setup page, there is a part that looks like this: Code: -------- BLOCKED NAMES -------- Set BlockedName[1] = MrApples Set BlockedName[2] = VG_Emblem Custom script: call DestroyTrigger(GetTriggeringTrigger()) Code: (String(OriginalName[(Integer A)]) as Lower case) Equal to (String(BlockedName[(Integer B)]) as Lower case) BlockedName refers to Code: -------- BLOCKED NAMES -------- Set BlockedName[1] = MrApples Set BlockedName[2] = VG_Emblem Custom script: call DestroyTrigger(GetTriggeringTrigger()) Applesnacks was created to eliminate the possibility of a Spoofer posing to be MrApples or VG_Emblem. In other words, unless you are MrApples or VG_Emblem, this code is totally pointless, and takes up about 3.67 seconds of game loading time. What I have just typed up is only possibly 95% true, but according to my Trigger skills, I am correct. When unprotecting a map makes all the triggers JASS. Are you sure that you deprotected the map or did you just find an unprotected map? I'm sure there are many of them out online. |

I asked because having the skill to deprotect a map with the triggers in GUI is something I only heard about. Would be fun to have. But just know that you deprotected a map of MrApples and MoonRazer. Of course they really didn't care much for the 10,000 other people who did that. |

Which is why this board is kind of dead because the last version MrApples released was over a year ago. But at the same time it is why you were able to get a Footmen Wars map hosted here so easily and quickly. |

Its actually improbable. When you protect/save/etc the map, its all in JASS, as that is what WC3 engine reads. The program most likely used (forgot the name) optimizes and removes WE-only data. This, as a result, meshes all the JASS code together and prevents it from being opened in WE because there is specific data a map needs to run in WE that is not required to run for WC3. It is highly possible that it can be put into GUI, but even more highly improbable. | |
