I think a lot of people are deterred from playing this map because of the huge load time. The dota forums provide a couple of tools to reduce loading times. At least it would be something to tie us over before releasing a new version =/

weneva ive played dota it takes way longer then when i load .79c, its not really that long to load .79c

Are u kidding me? Dota loads so much faster that ultf. I mean ultf takes about 30-50 secs and dota takes only 5-10.

Anyway, the new version might load faster, but if you have the map and run it through the tools from dota forums it only takes like 5 minutes, and the load would be greatly reduced( since who knows when a new version will be out :cry: ). UltF usually takes about 2 minutes to load, imagine if it had dota loading times =/

There are many things why DotA's loading time is faster. They don't preplace their units that's why there is always a major lag when you pick your hero and when the first creeps spawn. And Oninuva said that VG Emblem added so many unless objects that greatly slowed the loading time down.

Loading time is not affected by any of these things, it's been a long proven fact, that the map builder adds in a huge amount of code after every map build you make with it. If you want to read about it, I say check dota-allstars.com, but luckily some people finally came along and created ways to reduce this loading time. Long loading times are the fault of wc3 map editor and not that of the person.

All it would take is simply the unlocked map ran through these programs, and the resulting map would have 80% or so less loading time.

I don't understand what you typed above, is it planned to *be* done? *already* done? I don't get what planed to done means.

I sorry. I mean it was already planed to shorten the loading time. Some things were in game which were fixed I believe. And the rest is what you have to wait for because they have to go through a map protector. I actually have no idea what MrApples is plaining to do. MrApples never thinks inside the box. It's only that he can't do things outside the box and have to make due with limited recourses.

still the point is, this is an easy fix, that would save people a lot of hassle, since there is no foreseeable new release of ultimate footmen.

As far as I know. Ultimate footmen .79 is uses all those things and extra. I still think You're talking about Ultimate Footmen 1.00. Which didn't use the widgiter. But I don't know why because you hate the version anyway.
