![]() | To make you think harder than you probably want to. Can you think up a new kind of limb or joint or bone structure, or even any way of making our bodies better than they are now? Heck you can easily branch out into other newer ways of redoing us. For example. What would you need muscles for if there were something even better? Don't be afraid to go beyond the limits of conventional thinking, and come up with something new instead of something that allready is.(please post legible pictures if possible) What do you believe a new pronunciation should be? Surely everything we've come up with so far is not the extent of what our vocal chords can produce. I'm afraid I have no answers for these yet. In most scenarios asking questions is much easier than answering them. Especially hypothetical ones that have to deal with things we have not yet come to experience and understand.(of course which is why I ask them) Last edited by kairge; 05-21-2008 at 10:55 PM. |

![]() | Re: To make you think harder than you probably want to. Hard but fun mode can be answered with crude sexual references. We need quadruple-jointed dicks. Almost nightmare mode... I can't give you a color example, nor can I accurately describe such. You see, all descriptions are based off of things people already understand. It's sort of like the 5th taste (along with Sweet, Sour, Salty, and Bitter)... Yes, there is a 5th taste. I've tasted it. I can't describe it because it is a different aspect of one's sensory organs that most people have not experienced. It's like trying to describe to a born-blind person the details of eyesight. Nightmare mode is the easiest. We need a language that takes advantage of the range of sounds available by sucking in air as you speak rather than blowing out. Especially the high-pitched squeal created by quasi-screaming while sucking in air. |

Nightmare: Easy. Burping or sneezing while talking, sucking air in while saying words, other such things as that. |

Elves, Dwarves, Drow, and goblins (And most likely a few more) can see in the dark, and thats due to darkvision. O.o It basically brightens up everything to a certain point.

You can not 'create' a new color, because everything has color based on light.. you can't make a new color because there just aren't any. |

RA Salvatore is simply one of the writers for the Forgotten Realms books, which are COMPLETELY based on the Campaign Setting, which happened way before. And I hate Salvatore, he ruined Forgotten Realms. Good Drow? Pft. Anyhow, I'm not arguing about this. As a frequent roleplayer on DnD based games such as Neverwinter Nights II, Ja.. ![]() | Re: To make you think harder than you probably want to. Dark.revenant: What would quadruple jointed dicks be useful for? And your right about color, i'll take it off and maybe replace it with something. Typewriter: I'm gonna have to go hard on you with the wings. For one how on earth would they be useful for other than enjoying one's self, and even so how would one be able to find a way to have large enough wings to support ones self by still being able to place them conveniently on the human body.(please take the anatomy in mind) If you could find large enough wings they would have to be huge, they would take a lot of energy, and it would be very hard to balance with them. Not only that but they would get in the way of everying. Also hollow bones may seem like an answer but it really wouldn't be convenient for land animals such as us, we'd snap very easily and it would be much more difficult to mend our bones. If we did have hollow bones and working wings our head would also have to get a little larger to support the means of using them, and childhood deaths would increase by a lot because of acciedents. We'd probly have to redo society in a very creative way in order for it to work for us again. And once more it would take a lot of energy to preform an uneeded function. If you can give me a decent reason and a picture of how you would redo our anatomy to fit such wings that would be great. But otherwise it would not be a good idea. Although with purples you may be onto something, I think that is one of the colors our eyes are not very sensitive to, so there may be more about it to explore. Stubby: Heat sensing vision seems useless other than killing eachother while we sleep and staying up late. I think your onto something on to something with the color of love but other than that its a kinda crappy idea. Colors have to do with light not feelings and love is allready represented by shades of red and purple. I don't think HUUUURGH would do, its been done. Titan: I don't plan on creating a new color with light, i'm saying theres a chance we missed something. The sun would be greenish if our eyes were sensitive to green, so I don't doubt that we missed something. :P |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: To make you think harder than you probably want to. Actually, you don't understand how colors work bro.. Stating that the sun is green would be stating that pure fire is green. Suns' color comes directly from the intensity of the heat, hence orange/red/blue/white/etc. flames. Most of the sun emits WHITE light, which is a combination of all colors. Missing something is highly (exactly 100%) improbable based that color is simply based on intensity of light. Your shirt in your closet that LOOKS red, the real reason it LOOKS red is because when WHITE light hits it, it absorbs green and blue, reflect red. OMG yes thats right, your art teacher told you wrong, the primary colors are not yellow blue and red, they are green blue and red. The secondary colors are not orange, purple, and green, they are in fact cyan, magenta, and yellow. Seriously though, its not a bad IDEA for the ignorant person... the problem is, Titan knows all. |

So, please read what I said next time? |

![]() | Re: To make you think harder than you probably want to. What I said was based off of studies of suns and how they are classified in the 8th grade. I have always considered the color of the sun at least to be caused by heat and it having something to do with wavelengths of light. The giants being red as they are the coldest, the medium sized suns, like ours appearing to us as yellow, which is closer to the middle of the spectrum, and white dwarves becoming white, blue an purple because their wavelengths have the least ammount of space between(Bare with me its been a year ago and I did not memmorize the proper way to measure and lable it all.) But Green is also right next to yellow, so our sun should also have a greenish tint as well as yellow and orange. But it doesn't appear to because our eyes are not as sensitive to green. I'm not saying anything about white being the presence of all colors. I'm just saying that our eyes are not perfect, and because of that there is a decent chance we missed something, that there is something else. If you could I'd like you to pull your head out of your ass for long enough to at least get where i'm coming at, I'm basing my guess off of the fact that pictures of the sun would appear with a slight tint of green if our eyes were made differently, and that because they are insensitive to certain things, there may be another that we have missed. Don't worry, you can stick it back in when your done and go about your all knowing business. |

Fairly good for holding cans/bottles/etc. @nightmare mode -- As previously said, pronunciation that involves inhaling and exhaling would be PERFECT. No more stopping mid-sentence to be interrupted by someone who thinks you are done talking. At the same time, it could possibly ruin personality in how we talk. ----sticking this at bottom because it has nothing to do with the thread---- The problem Kairge, is that I still don't see how a color can be discovered if we can not see it, for that category of study lies on more scientific proof as opposed to beliefs. Also, who looks directly at the sun O.o? As to yall gettin pissed, you take this way to seriously. I simply based my statement (that ethereal quoted) off of what I was told. Secondly, since when was I trying to prove anyone wrong? I made a complete statement out of any relevance to what anyone else had commented. That last sentence was, if you read all the posts, a direct mimic of the syntax used previously to attack my argument, not a representation of how I act. Kairge, you apparently seem to rule out all I say based that I ended it with.. Quote:
And as a last say, this started with misreading, and each response has been from someone else misreading what was said. End here, anything else you want to say just PM me with all ur flames.

And it would be catastrophic to try and stop flying immigrants coming into the country. (don't take offense to that, countries have a right to say who they want and don't want in their country). New word pronounciations? Lets get some elven into the english language. (How many elvish languages are there?) |
