Fixed the spelling "Autistics" and no, they are not. If you think they do, then you are looking at the world in more so a 2D view. Lets look at it this way..

Most autistic people have a high IQ. Billy is autistic.
Does Billy have a high IQ?
A) Yes
B) No
C) Not enough information provided

The answer is C. Wanna kno why? There was an autistic girl that used to live in my area, she never spoke an (English) word her whole life -- not sure if what she ever said meant something in a different language -- Upon her Senior year in high school, she amazingly started to actually socialize.. someone told her to take IQ tests and crap like that.. no she wasn't a genious. Autism also causes 'rage' in some cases, whereas you might see in the grocery store a small child having a fit because his/her mom wouldn't buy them spaghetti-o's, chances are.. either the kid is spoiled rotten, or a more likely chance, he is autistic. I also recently saw a thing on TV where this dude was able to recite pi to its 22,500th digit, and no he wasn't autistic.
To shed some light into opposing argument..
Autism is a disorder where the persons brain has either too many chemicals of some sort, not enough chemicals, or chemicals that shouldn't be there. It is highly possible that one of those 3 types DOES in fact have a high chance of causing a larger increase of brain usage because the chemicals in the brain could cause side-effects such as that.
In the end, the braud catagory of 'autistics' being called SMARTER than the world thinks is a greatly incorrect way to put it.. its more like.. autistics have a better chance of being smarter than the world.

personally, i think autistic people could be secretly smart, but usually (at least from what i've seen) they don't talk much, and when they do, it's not really English most of the time. Its cool that they can think in 3d though, i wish i could do that more, would help me a lot making models for computer applications

Just for those unaware most autistics (98%) are retarded or with 'struggling intelligence'. Only a small portion are savants, people with a extraordinary abilities, that doesn't mean their IQ is high though. Reciting pi to the whatever digit doesn't make you smart.

Autistics are not smarter, nor any less intelligent than anyone else. They are just different. Because people treat them differently, maybe they repress their own creative abilities, and deny the world what they might be able to show. If you were picked on all the time, would you want to show what you could do? Being in an opressive environment? That 2% might be the few that do, pardon the phrase, stick it to them, and show off their abilities just to show that they can.


On a somewhat related note, this is why many people think contact with species beyond our planet would be a bad idea. We wouldn't be able to understand a mind that took a different evolutionary path than us, with different motives, communication, and views, and when we cannot understand something, we either fear it (and usually try to destroy it) or we reject it. This is why humanity is stupid, if we can't even get over people of our own species, then what would happen if something else happened on a wide scale, like contact with an extraterrestrial species?

1) He wasn't autistic, his enhanced intelligence came from a late birth (or so they say).
2) If he was autistic, there is no real way to find the truth.

The topic's question is irrelavent, autism one of the most complicated neurological disorders that has had no proven cause, it has a mass array of forms and could come into a kid who never learns to say a complete sentence or develop social skills, others get highly refined creativity etc.

Also, autism does not lead to the development of highly logical people such as Einstein, but if possible it would lead to such things as creativity as previously stated.

Additionally.. autistics are hardly accepted because the disorder nearly always leads to some extent of social problems.

I don't remember any stories of Einstein's descendants being autistic.
Also the evidence is merely a probability, it is nothing factual.

Also the same article, in thanked impartialness, provided a counterargument for their personalities such as being a great intellectual plus incredibly dedicated would combine to form a person who doesn't fit with normal persons.

Plus Einstein was obviously extremely intelligent, with a good sense of humor, an incredibly unlikely case.

Apparently I show signs of autism too! Does that mean I'm autistic? No it doesn't. Autism is being increasingly diagnosed yet I never notice a difference in the number of people that are like those described, that also shows the procedure of diagnosis, which also has no concrete base, is flawed, plus this has been debated as well in many articles and reports if your going to say I'm reporting that from mere personal experience.


Also Einstein had kids and a wife.. he wasn't gay.
