Re: cant get task manager to work

Why don't you do it the old fashion why and just right click your tool bar (the bar with the start button) and just hit task manager? I don't know if you tried that yet or not. But you said you were just pressing ctrl+alt+delete.

Re: cant get task manager to work

That is because there is a registration key in Windows that allows Administrators to disable Task Manager.

I could post more technical information but I don't think that help so...

(The folder he goes to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\System)

all so when i right click on start there is no task manager on this computer (one with the problem) or my other computer

Here is the file. Place it in "@YourWindowsDrive@\Windows\system32\"

Packed with 7-zip.

Re: cant get task manager to work

dang shocker, your pc is pretty screwd.
Missing some files and registry problems could possibly be rooted back to something more dangerous than spyware.
You could have also 'restored' your computer to a later date, which undoes registry changes.. possibly fix something you havn't noticed yet too.

Re: cant get task manager to work

ya i tryed 2 do that when i had my computer super infected... aka i could not even turn on my computer with uot getting 3000 pop-ups, errors, messeges all over saying i have spy-wear, and idk what else

and befor that i all ways had problems with system 32, errors, and at that time it told me to run chkdsk (sorry if not spelled right) which i never knew how 2 make it run mannuly.

ya well finaly 1 time after restating my computer 30+ times i did not get tons of things poping up so i got a new program and it cleaned most/all my stuff, i think...

well thats basicly my history of my computer being destoryed

how do i get to the @YourWindowsDrive@ folder? is it like inder mycomputer or my documents?

Re: cant get task manager to work

Like:

If your Windows was installed on C:\ (Normally it is) then the path is:
C:\Windows\system32\

If Windows is installed on D:\, the path is:
D:\Windows\system32\

And in the folder, system32 is where you place the file I uploaded.

By defualt 7-Zip should open upon you double click on it. Otherwise go to your "@WindowsDrive@\Programs\7-Zip\" and open 7-Zip manager. From there drag and drop the downloaded file into the 7-Zip manager. You should see one single file in that archive.

Re: cant get task manager to work

7zip is the same thing as WinZip or WinRAR, just better. You need to unpack it before sticking it in the folder.

You need to download it first. Hence the link I keep giving you.

7-Zip

Download & install it. Then extract...

Na .dll files aren't allowed to be uploaded.
