Odd Doodad errors

Hey i dont know exactly where this should go..its not dealing with WE so i guess it goes here.

the last few games i've downloaded have had some odd problems..its the weirdest thing. In the place of many doodads, not all but many, its a odd pink checkord box. wtf?!?!?!?!? its taunting me. I can't fathom why its happening now. any ideas?

Hey if anybody needs any triggering done or has any questions about it just PM it to me and i will help you to the best of my ability.

if its in the WE and it's green then you don't have the model for the doodad. or if it's like fire or something a purple/black box is around it but in WC the fire will show up.

No no no , its not in WE. its while i'm playing the game. i can't figure it out, its while i'm in game.

My guess is that it didn't load properly. Does it happen only in some games or in all games with that map?

Some maps are optimised so much so that the doodads dont reload properly until warcraft 3 is restarted. Blame the widgetizer! (great program tho)

hmm really? never thought of that. because i was playing it the same time i downloaded it. i never thought of that. But shadow, it could be that but it was every game i downloaded after a period. could i be blocking something important?

Ive actually had the same problem as you. Was when i started playing with the editor and had no idea on how to do anything.

I'd been playing around with some doodads and some random stuff...And start the map...And everywhere are these Pink boxes..(or green...Can't remember tbh). Well...I was like "Wtf?"...Never had the problem again after that though =/ (Didnt use imports or anything like that)

I my guess would be the war3.mpq is messed up. Try reinstall.

Happened to me and just restart your comp/wc3 and ignore them for a while after restarting wc3 and your comp a couple of times it'll fix and go away i think.

The Widgetizer converts the WE's object data into .slk files which improves load time by alot. Heres a quote from the programs readme:
When you play a different map after having played a widgetized map you get checkered boxes instead
of doodads?
This is a problem caused by the bad loading system that Blizzard made for Warcraft III. Unfortunately
I can't fix Blizzard's bugs, so if that matters to you simply exclude doodads and destructables
from the conversion process.

You mean when in game you don't have an icon its just a green picture where the unit avatar should be?
Meh don't worry in that case... its just a small bug in side of the wc3 programming that doesn't load it.
In we if you test a map and don't have some of the custome units placed.. you have to relaod the map because it loses the info for them temporarily.
