![]() | Re: Some units are too imbed Ah byes this is a common issue many players tell me during online playing. Obliviously i dont want protoss to be over powered and ive been trying to balance them for a while. When i added the SC armor system into the maps i was hoping that would make protoss units more balanced but it seems to not be the case. If this is so then the current shield system must be to blame as ive been using them system for a few years now. Hopefully the new shield system will be the answer to this annoying problem. The new system will show the health of the shield with a blue bar just above the unit allowing players to know how much shield the unit or building has left. Also another thing that u could do is dont let players get to powerful, and try to do as mcuh damage to them as early as possible. Or remember to use specific counter units avaliable to u to stop a massing player eg. mass wraiths(with cloak) = alot of dead carriers, siege tanks for dragoons, firebats for zealots etc. |

![]() | Re: Some units are too imbed OKay here's a valid solution if you want it , it's kind of weird but you can acctually standardize unit dmg with a bit of work and make all unit dmg standardized, then you standardized the shields til they equate with the new dmg system which should be far less eratic. ![]() | Re: Some units are too imbed Or you could hardcode the starcraft dmg/armor system into wc3. . . . . it's more work but would give you far better results. Also keep in mind no sc player will ever mass a single unit. You always mix. This prevents easy countering, and makes micro more important. Which means if goons are imba then goons + zealots will be almost unstoppable, because the lots should be able to prevent mass hydra/ling from pwning the goons. |
