Customized links on Nav-Bar...

If I were to look into making a system that lets the user define their own links on the top or side navbar, how many of you would actually use it?

I'm either thinking of a select forum/page method, or letting people name and enter their own links. This could have some effect on the speed, not too much, but a lot considering how small it is. What do you guys think?

You mean, if I were to log on and I wanted it there could be a link to Facebook, ME Risk Forum, and Google up top?
