So I had an idea for a contest of some sort for the site. There could be a raffle or a contest, and the winner would get something like 2 free hours of map editing assistance from one of the advanced mappers on this map.

We get lots of posts from people starting to edit, and this might be something a lot of them would love to have.

Or let them learn on their own..... which can lead to diffrent mapping styles not similar mapping styles... Which is always a good thing.

Helping someone make a map doesn't affect the style of the map, if you are making what they want you to make, unless you go and put your own ideas in it.

My idea isn't supposed to be a substitute for learning, its supposed to be just be a lucky reward and just something nice to do, god forbid you help someone with mapping panther.

As if he can . By objective I meant, what do they have to do to win the contest.

It could be something completely random, like just have a thread, where people post to enter with the only condition being that they have to have a project idea and some basic work, and then pick a random person

or it could be more of a contest, where people submit their project ideas, and the person whose map idea shows the most promise (based on some sort of vote) wins free help.

You can't really do that much in 2 hours. Besides, consistent nagging has to work somethimes, right?

I can do a lot in an 2 hours compared to a new mapmaker, and can do alot to help point the editor in the right direction.

If you want help i'll chip in too. i'm not nearly as experienced as apples is but i sure as hell know my way around the world editor. . thiis was a good idea King.

i don't do triggers very well but i could help with basic stuff like terrain, units, and importing sounds music and models.
