Geass is pretty good, I can't choose between each other. If Death Notes second season was as good as the first season, I'd pick Death Note for sure. In matter of seasons, Death Note Season 1 > Code Geass Season 1, Code Geass Season 2 > Death Note Season 2

I haven't watched Geass, but from what I've heard, it's good. But I'm sure nothing can beat Death Note at it's own game. Geass may be good, but mechas just make it =/= DN.

So they can't really be compared that way.

I'm serious,it is. The main character comes very close to winning,and is still somewhat winning (series isnt over yet) There's actual character development,and theres awesome mechs. Seriously,watch code geass.

No way! It's just that Death Note had no mechas. In Death Note's area, it's the best. In the whole mecha area, it's probably a Gundam series that's the best.

Also,lights goal was alot less fair/interesting as far as im concerned. besides,code geass doesnt even kick into gear until around episode 14.

Honestly,code geass,like many other animes start of rather slow. I quit and re-started both geass and death note many times before finally getting into it. Code geass starts getting interesting around episode 3,if i remember right. but isnt even close to what it becomes towards the end of season 1.

Disagree with you on that, Morpheus. Lights goal was MUCH more interesting, but they stopped focusing on that, instead going into too much random detectivey crap. And then the way he lost was amazingly idiotic.

Personally,i find destroying a massive empire and killing all the royalty to be much more interesting then killing criminals in japan. The way he lost Was sort of his fault. His insanity took over him way too much. I mean,remember that retarded sounding laugh from the last episode?

is a video with the laugh,that completely ruined his defeat for me. (was rooting for L and co all along/)

Actually Power comes through smarts, power causes insanity. Look at anyone who had much power. Napoleon went insane,hitler was always insane,and etc. He SHOULD have went insane,noone should have the power to kill someone with just the name and a face.

Yeah, but Ryuk had to obey the fact that a user of the Death Note must die by the Death Note. And that he was greedy and wanted Light's lifespan.

What did Ryuuk say? That the user of the death note will be killed by him. So? That didn't mean he couldn't win. It would just mean that he might achieve his goals, THEN be killed. There could always be misa to take over, or another person he'd give his Death Note to. And, not necessarily. He'd be stuck in prison. Thats why Ryuuk said, "Do you think I want to wait for you to be stuck in prison? Thats boring. Lets just end it here, Light. It was fun." I think manga ending was much better, really. Ryuuk actually talked to him.
