![]() | Status on 6.24 - An Explanation Aight. 6.24 is defiantly coming, nos is just waiting on something called the Risk Engine(RE) from myself. The Risk Engine is a massive smart system that can be integrated with basically any risk map with little work, and it controls every aspect of the map's coding. Nos gets the pleasure of beta testing it on LotR Risk 6.24, and his upcoming Epica Risk. I've run into quite a few unforeseen bugs, as I usually do, but I am resolving these issues. The core stuff really is done, right now I'm working on making it smoother, and less power-eating (it crashes the map on startup, too much to do). What will this mean for you, the player? A lot, but mostly stuff only a mapper would take note of. Like, a lot less lag, no more small bugs, faster up-dating of the map... and a ton of new features (eventually). I'm only one person, and I have a lot of things that need my attention, so yeah I'm working on it. And nos also made huge updates on the terrain/content side, but let him tell you that. |

Therefore you won't have to ask me anymore. (PS: I removed all the previous posts here and please refrain from posting in this topic as it is just a read-only area and if you have any suggestions or additions to what I am posting, post it in ME Risk Edits. Thank you.) 6.24 includes: 7 new nations: Lindon Lune Withered Heath Dorwinion Khand Far Harad Harondor Completely Redone Nations: -Mordor -Umbar (Removed) -Eriador -Iron Hills -Grey Mountains -Shire -Enedwaith -Fangorn -Lothlorien -Straggler's Cove (Pirate Island) moved south, away from Gondor. City Revamps: -Osgiliath (Both East & West) -Pelargir -Cair Andros -Dol Amroth -Edhellond -Anfalas -Minas Morgul -Barad Dur -Khand -Dol Guldur And various other city revamps. New Fortresses: -Rhun -Eastern Empire (Nation of Khand) -Al-Amrun -Mount Gundabad -Tharbad -Harlond -Forlond -Erebor -Umbar -Esgaroth 9 New Units: -Dragon Whelp -Black Dragon -Cold Drake -Dorwinion Axeman -Dorwinion Swordsman -Dorwinion Chieftain -Rider of Variag -Variag Fire Archer -Warrior of Variag Various Bug Fixes/Balance Fixes: -Water pass from Angmar -Another entrance to Moria (Via Enedwaith) -Another entrance to Lorien (Via Rhovanion) -Another rear entrance to Mordor (Via Khand) -All nations income now based off of the formula: #of cities + #of entrances / 2 (Rounded up or down, depending on how often that nation is chosen) -Black Gate will always be opened. Other Features: -Good VS Evil Mode removed (may be back later) -Carchost and Narchost, towers of the Black Gate added -Umbar nation removed and replaced with Harondor, moved Umbar to one city off the coast of Far Harad. Many more features and little things not mentioned. But those are the key points. I hope this helped all of you out. |

![]() | Re: Status on 6.24 - An Explanation Yea and Nos-Feratu hasn't lifted a finger to even test the map right or dare try and code anything on his own in all his 'waiting'. Like to point out the map was delayed 3 months just because Nos-Feratu lied about testing and gave bull**** bug reports. |

![]() | Re: Status on 6.24 - An Explanation Well this comes from speculation from what little knowledge I have about the entire process of remaking the map or what it's current status is. It seems that for the last 3 months people have made a break through in many different concepts and ideas for a new and better map and alot of change has happened. (Nos's screenshots from the new map.) But I think It was a horrible Idea to try to make such a drastic change in a map that would take months and months if you have the top people who are interested in this map drooling over the idea of it coming out and it not being delivered. I understand the amount of hard work and time you have put into it but maybe you should do a quick fix so you can release what you have and then make 6.25 the version that has everything all together. At one point some one said that they were sick in tired of 6.23 because of all the hype about such a new and better map. I am probably one of the biggest advocate of middle earth risk and have easily tooo much time playing but I loved it. But as of late I have given up on WC3 entirely because I have spent so much time waiting and checking these posts everyday for the past months really wanting to play this map. I'm sure no matter how much time you take everyone will still love you and play your map and be really amped but its just starting to get really really depressing that its not even close to comming out yet. (I actual dont know if a version came out but when i asked somebody said no, and they followed that by saying, "Nos, were done waiting please release something." I dont think that can some this entire 3 month experience.) So please who ever is in charge of this GET IN CHARGE OF it. Thanks Again VAS |

MrApples has not worked on his "RE" for a very long time and in the time it would take to recode to the original coding may take a month or two, then I'd practically immediately have to go back to MrApples. I feel your pain, but I can't get him motivated. Everytime I mention it he comes up with some joke to throw at me.. Me: Have you worked on the RE yet? Apples: Gay? Me: Seriously.... Apples: I'm busy. That's how it goes. It's starting to piss me off more than any of you so there's no need to complain to me. Send him PMs. Get him to work on it, because I sure as hell can't. |

I described to him how you needed the RE risk engine and he went into all this stuff so he still knows whats up and how to get it done. I forgot his name, I myself gave up bnet untill this game comes out. His sn is Gates777. Just hit him up when you feel like to go over the details .. ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Status on 6.24 - An Explanation so out of curiosity what exactly is this RE system, from what I read here it sounds like just a revised generic risk trigger system for risk maps, that said, why is it needed for ME risk, since ME risk was already a functional map, why can't it just proceed with its existing trigger set up? |

In order to install the new RE I had deleted the old one which also relied on regions (current doesn't) so in order to revert back to the old it could take just as long as it did to get where we are right now. It's just not worth it. Besides, I think we can all wait. |

![]() | Re: Status on 6.24 - An Explanation You know nos, I am pretty sure I know a way you could balence out alot fo these units... give them 6 die*you should know this stuff* and set the damage ratio for the die to 0 through the top, but make 2 dies on 0 and have it 6 sides per die. it balences most things beautifully because of the good chance to do half or even no damage. |
