I deffinately believe that Mordor is the best, you mass the orcs and you are almost fail safe.

Hmm.. I gotta say the Dwarves and the other race in the bottom left corner. I was playing against these two kids a few weeks ago at school and I captured those two places in the beginning.. and completely forgot about them. and later on when I remembered about them I had a huge army that ran around and wiped out most of the enemies.

Re: Middle Earth Risk Strategy

lols, you mean Moria, that's useful yes. And BTW there arn't upgrades or heros in ME Risk. Maybe you played a different version, personally I believe heros would ruin the game.

By the way, attached is the Middle Earth Risk map, my latest version: Dedicated to Clan ViRi. Check it out..

Yup, it's one of the best strategies I must say. The mass goblins in early game is always amazing.

i'm in clan viri. i think moria is fun but the best strategy is to start south in umbar and harad and ithilien then no one will attack you until later and by then you will have had more gold.

Re: Middle Earth Risk Strategy

I've tried that but it's pretty boring for me, I often like to straight fight so I'll go for either north-west, north-east, or center (Mordor/Gondor.)

Re: Middle Earth Risk Strategy

I personally love starting as Arnor. you can mass wester riders and raid people and run past their big guys(like ents) causing a huge distraction so u can get other people to rush their other borders.

Sometimes in the newst few version, thanks to all the water, i just go to Dol Amroth or the Gray Haven, buy a bunch of ships, load up, and have someone protect me in exchange for me causing havoc on their foes!

Re: Middle Earth Risk Strategy

I have to say for a starategy i usually go for iron hills beacuse its smaller than the brown hills or i go fro brown but either way going in north-east region is easiest beacuse everyone goes for mordor etc while no one really that ive seen so far goes after places like iron hills either way it's just to fun to own kids and the rest of people but for rookies a good thing to do is just mass in a small region then wait tell somone goes after u or tell u have all the money u need but always try to be the defender not even beserkers can own u if your smart and get archers/melle

Sometimes i like starting in druadan, massing woses and own people w/ people as intelligent as cavemen, just to see how they react when their *almighty* army dies to a bunch of hooligans >

I like to rush as many mines as possible and the surrounding area or turtle Umbar/Harad/Ithilien.

Re: Middle Earth Risk Strategy

Actually I think starting from the Shire or Eriador down south is pretty effective, as long as you can hol SouthWest Arnor, if you take it then just move south into Rohan etc...

Re: Middle Earth Risk Strategy

I also discovered that if you start at Dol Guldur it is insanely easy to take it on turn one. As long as noone else goes for it, you can just send one cheap little 2g Black Orc to cap each base. Then it's on to Rhun and the mines for me!

Re: Middle Earth Risk Strategy

Why not start at Rhun with a 1g cheap little spearthrower and work your way from Rhun into Dol Goldur, then take mines.

After mines, take rhovanion empire. Then move into Mirkwood or Arnor, depending on the strength of each.

Usually for me 3 other people start there and either team me or they make me waste my gold and then we lose :P Shire is way better.
