![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So, I'm picking up a long-dead project... There's a long-dead map called Fireblade's Mutating Hero Arena. I'm thinking of starting where the maker left off, and updating it slightly, and fixing it. Not a full-time thing, like FFERPG or anything, but I'm just warning I might be asking a lot of questions in the near future, considering i'm not so good with variables, or triggers, or balancing things, I've got a tendency to make things better than other things, for no reason whatsoever. About a year ago I fixed a lot of triggers, but considering I used to not be able to host, the map just died away, and I got a new pc since then and lost it. Whoops. So, be careful, I might become very annoying, very fast. The World Ends With You! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: So, I'm picking up a long-dead project... The map is very good. The heroes mutate at level 10 into different heroes, way more powerful ones. I'm not going to release it until I have a lot of the heroes mutating. About half of them do now, and I'm getting one or two done every time i could be bothered. Only annoyance is it was a w3m, and now it's a w3x, which took all of the heroes' inventories away, and now I need to find them all in the unit editor and give them inventories... I'm finding it hard to balance the heroes, so I might let you guys take a crack at it for balancing purposes, but not for quite a while. I plan on getting all the heroes to mutate, and EVENTUALLY (maybe) getting each hero to go a third time, add more items and stuff. I also need to add better creep events and areas, but I'd need to think of the triggers first. Top priority is mutations, then balancing. Working on it now infact. The World Ends With You! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: So, I'm picking up a long-dead project... Ok, got my first problem. I can't get my head around it at all. My repick trigger looks like this: Code: Repick -Events --Player 1 (Red) types a chat message containing -repick as An exact match --Player 2 (Blue) types a chat message containing -repick as An exact match etc, until player 12. -Conditions -Actions --Unit Group - Pick every unit in (Random 1 units from (Units owned by (Triggering player) matching (((Matching unit) is A Hero) Equal to True))) and do (Actions) ---Loop - Actions ----Unit - Remove (Picked Unit) from the game -----Camera - Pan camera for (Triggering player) to (Center of Wisp Starting <gen>) over 2.50 seconds ----Unit - Creat 1 Hero Chooser for (Triggering Player) at (Center of Wisp Starting <gen>) facing (Position of (Triggering unit)) --Game - Display to (All players) the text: ((Name of (Triggering Player)) + has repicked their hero.) I think it would go something like checking if the player has one wisp/no hero, then skipping the remaining actions. I've looked through the GUI triggers for ages, and I can't quite find what I want. I'd love some help from one of you pros. It's killing me to ask for help because my sense of pride is rather big, and I feel very annoyed right now... So please hurry and reply, because I wouldn't mind getting this trigger fixed sometime tonight. (I'm GMT, it's 22:40 atm) Thanks guys. EDIT: OH NOES I DOUBLE POSTED! Oh whoopsies. ![]() | Re: So, I'm picking up a long-dead project... You can have a condition like: ((Units owned by (Triggering player) of type Wisp) is empty) Equal to True Haven't tested it, but I think the trigger would continue only if the player has no wisps, thus they wouldn't be able to exploit the trigger. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: So, I'm picking up a long-dead project... Holy cheese, that's good. Trying it now. Hardest part would actually be finding it in the gui. Will edit once i find out if it works or not. EDIT: Got it, not sure if it works yet, but it was integer comparison: [code](Number of living Hero Chooser units owned by (Triggering player)) Equals 0[code] Checking it momentarily. EDIT 2: Thanks mate. Still haven't checked, looking for other problems to fix first. EDIT 3: I checked. Now the trigger doesn't really work. T.T If I have no hero chooser, it displays the text. but doesnt rmove hero or gimme a new hero chooser. Not in the mood to fix it. Playing Metal Gear solid 4 on my PS3 atm. Holy **** that game kicks ass. The World Ends With You! Last edited by GhostlySpoon; 07-01-2008 at 03:17 PM. |
