Bleach RPG

I'm interested in making an RPG based off the anime Bleach. I don't have much experience at mapmaking (I've worked on a couple maps but never finished any, I'm decent at manipulating the unit and ability editor but not as good with triggers yet), so I'm looking for some other map makers on this site to help me out with it.

So anyway, here's my idea: Rather than starting out as a specific character from Bleach, you start out as a new Shinigami at the Shinigami academy in Soul Society. There should be 3-4 classes, a Warrior class that can choose 3-4 combat abilities and 1 demon magic, a Technologist with a crafting skill, a buff or debuff, a combat skill and 1-2 demon magics, a Caster class with 1 combat ability and 3-4 demon magics, and maybe a more balanced class with 2 combat skill and 2 demon magics. So the warrior class would be more like Kenpachi's squad, the technologist would be more like 12th squad or maybe 4th squad, etc.

Once you've chosen your class and your skills, you get to choose a zanpaktou. There should be a variety of types, like fire, ice, poison, etc. Each one should be an inventory item that acts as a spellbook with multiple abilities inside. So a fire type zanpaktou, for example, might have inside a firebolt-type ability, an immolate ability, a passive ability like incinerate, and an aoe, and eventually a bankai.

When fighting hollows, instead of directly getting xp you just get lumber and gold bounty. Gold can be used to buy items things like 4th squad's healing pots and energy boosters, 12th squad's technological inventions, maybe some gear like armor upgrades and magic artifacts that increase stats and such. There would also be some ingredients for crafting more powerful items for the technologists. Lumber can be used to buy tomes of xp (so you can level your combat abilities and demon magic), upgrade your soul slayer abilities, or raise your stats. So early on it will be cheaper to gain levels and raise your stats, eventually you'll want to level your soul slayer more as it takes more xp and therefore more lumber to level.

Combat abilities should be things like critical strike, evasion, armor (both direct armor increases and abilities like the stone giant has that reduce damage by x), maybe a thorns-type damage return, attack speed buff, and maybe some activatable ones like frenzy. Demon magic would include 3-4 destruction spells (nukes and aoes), and 3-4 binding spells (debuffs and stuns).

As far as how the game itself would play out, there would be quests to take out specific hollows, and there would be hollows spawning semi-randomly in the real world area. So there'd be Soul Society in the middle of the map with quests available, shops, and the training shop to buy xp/stats/slayer levels. Around soul society would be various areas of a city on earth, each area having different difficulty levels of hollows (so like the cemetery would be one of the hardest areas, the slums would be moderately hard, a more peaceful area like an office park or a suburb would be much easier, the park would be low-moderate difficulty, etc.). As quests get completed, harder and harder unique hollows spawn to give players more opportunities to test their skills and achieve higher bounties of gold and xp, and maybe some unique drops for harder bosses. Eventually menos grandes could spawn in the hardest areas, and maybe we could even have a Hueco Mundo area for characters who've achieved bankai (or kenpachi like characters who are able to live through bankai being used on them).

Anyone interested in helping with this? I can post some more specifics on abilities, zanpaktou types and abilities, and hollows if people are interested.

Kind of bad to start a RPG when you're not really good at triggers. They take a long time to make, big size, and needs a team with good unit manipulation, abilities, and other stuff. It's uses almost everything in the worldedit.

Nah I don't think RPG's need to be so trigger heavy, alot of it you can find online. Since the warcraft map editor is also built for campaigns, which are rpg like, it shouldn't be that hard.

However I do think RPGs take the most work and give the least payoff.

I agree on the most work part. But also if you can't do basic triggers then it will be very hard to do.

Sorry can't really help you because it's 3rd trimester so the test and quizzes are getting harder. I can help you at times on the weekends but my have only basic knowlege of GUI so I really can't help you that much in the triggering area.

More then welcome to do that.

Starting a RPG is good for learning but don't count on releasing it.
I start making a Footman Wars map, but I never made it 100% done. I just played around with spells, systems, unit, etc.

Same here. But later I decided to learn the things I need to learn first. After trying to make a footmen wars map for the 5th time. You really start to know a lot about the WE.
