suggestions and help

so i just made my first userbar but im still new to photoshop. so can can anyone give me suggestions on how to improve n a guide to make them would be really appreciated

You might think this is kind of stupid but you need something like the small dots I put in my userbars or those diagonial lines. It just gives it the "I'm not some picture block" feeling to it.
