Warming Climate Is Changing Life On Global Scale, Says New Study

ScienceDaily (May 15, 2008) — A vast array of physical and biological systems across the earth are being affected by warming temperatures caused by humans, says a new analysis of information not previously assembled all in one spot. The effects on living things include earlier leafing of trees and plants over many regions; movements of species to higher latitudes and altitudes in the northern hemisphere; changes in bird migrations in Europe, North America and Australia; and shifting of the oceans' plankton and fish from cold- to warm-adapted communities.

Re: Wow, global warming sucks!

This should be put in the Thinking Cap.

Global warming is a lie, and if it isn't, its being capitalized on by many people, including governments. Quick side note: Back in the day when freezers and refrigerators were made with CFC's, governments were given a number of "credits" they could buy, telling them how much Cluroflurocarbons they could pollute with. Now, the rage is to tell other governments how many Carbon credits they have, how much fossil fuel they can burn, all for money. Coincidence? I don't think so. Just greedy asshõles making money.

The Earth has gone through stages of cooling and heating on its surface as plant, animal, and simple surface features such as oceans have absorbed or deposited Carbon Dioxide in different forms. For example, Limestone is one source of it, fossil fuels another, and while we, the people, are having a small effect on the regional climate, there's no big net effect we can have. There's also evidence pointing at the Earth having similar occurances during a magnetic field shift, which we are long overdue for.

The Earth is like a large animal, with its own rythms and diseases. People are like the common cold: short term, mild symptoms, and not good, but not completely destructive. What is a disaster for us is the Earth shrugging it's shoulder. That little earthquake in China could have been a sneeze. We are just insignificant to the Earth, but so full of ego that we think that we can affect it on a large scale without nuclear weapons. Sure, oil spills have drastic local effects, and that smog in California will never go away, but elsewhere, life thrives.

Re: Wow, global warming sucks!

To answer Pogo's question on if this should be in the Thinking Cap.
The answer is no.

Short reason why would be
News Forum-You talk about the news article that is being linked
The Thinking Cap-You talk about a subject

Also if you tried to debate about a topic like you would in The Thinking Cap in the News Forum. The topic would just get cleaned, locked, and then warnings or bans would be given.

It sucks to debate with people who have a tough time with grammar, punctuation, and capitalization.

Also, I'd rather take the word of a respected scientist over you.

Stubby.

Mornings got up to one hundred?

Night is around eighty or so.

Hottest days for Cali in a while, I believe.

Re: Warming Climate Is Changing Life On Global Scale, Says New Study

our weather this year was messed up. it started snowing two weeks late, and on groundhog's day, the weird rat said no two more weeks of winter. then we get 3 more months! now the weather is 60 in the mornings, 95 in the afternoon.

glaciers grow, but the north and south poles melt? so confuzzling!

Re: Warming Climate Is Changing Life On Global Scale, Says New Study

Calling it global warming is proving you do not know about it.
The name global warming is no longer used by scientists since the whole globe does not warm the climate usually changes.
I am not going to explain the reasoning for this because most people on the net are stubborn.

Re: Warming Climate Is Changing Life On Global Scale, Says New Study

Here's another fact to throw in: Most of the so called "global warming scientists" actually have degrees in political engineering. Who here trusts politicians? Not me.

I agree with you though, Serenity. Too many stubborn people who don't want to do their own research and look at whats right in front of them, just content to feed off the lies of the government, politicians, and pop culture mass hysterias that seem so common today. If it isn't one thing for everyone to be paranoid about, it's another.

There's a topic about global warming in The Thinking Cap. Take your debate over there or I will be forced to close this topic.
