![]() | For a decade, scientists have puzzled over a surprising phenomenon: Supernovae stars viewed at extreme distances seem to be moving away from us faster than those nearby. Most researchers have assumed that the stars have somehow accelerated – or that, more precisely, the rate of the expansion of the post-Big Bang universe itself has accelerated over time. This was particularly odd given that the universe was thought to be dominated by matter, which should, through the aggregate gravitational effect of each bit pulling on the others, have led to a deaccelerating expansion, rather than the opposite. Thus, scientists have postulated an unknown kind of energy, now known as "dark energy," which would be responsible for the acceleration. Read on! |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Time Itself May Be Slowing Down I watched a show about that on the Science channel a few years back. it was about how the universe is expanding faster and faster! and i don't think time is slowing down, because time is a man made perception! Humans don't want to slow down time! ![]() ![]() And now, directly from chip's signature... ![]() |

That theory relates nothing to additional dimensions that exist, but can not be physically seen. Although it would be weird if this theory ended up being proved true.. not only will we be able to view time as a plane, but it could bring about some pretty exotic theories in relative to how time itself works. |

| Re: Time Itself May Be Slowing Down Wel me myself as worthless human - I think time is dominated by the one trying to measure it. I've somewhat got this prob on our Physics term at school and the teacher was spinning around cuz everyone was talking to everyone but... Let's say it like this: As long as Uranus doesnt answer if im asking him which date we have I'm sure that time depends on men to measure it. If Uranus says we have 1000K after the Sun as you call this Ball of freaking burning Helium is born I revise my oppinion. |
