I'm sorry if those have been asked before or if there's already a topic about all this (if there is, please give me the link) but I re-started Playing FFERPG recently (version 0.8.7.9) and I want to know a few things :

1rst : Is there a way to change the text speed AFTER starting the game ? I must have read Arachnophobia's text ten times but If I were to switch text speed to instant, then I'd miss the text of the quest I've never seen before (it's a serious pain when you talk to Ramuh with a level 6-7 Archer, you don't understand what he says but then Quaeztacoalt pops out of nowhere and kills you >_>).

2ncd : I have a serious problem with loading codes. I've read all the topics I could find on this board but nothing works for me. I wasn't able to load a single file with the new version.
Before you say, YES I do write -save before I type -load *code*. I have checked my code dozens of time, WITH the color code and everything seems right. If you're wondering, here's the code :

I'm not very far in the game (level 5 Squire. No good items) but I just want to understand what I was doing wrong before I loose serious data.

3rd : What does it mean to ''Master'' something ? How do you do it ?

You can change the text speed in game after you have picked normal text when you start the game, you do this by typing -instant.

The load code in 8.7.9 doesnt work for me either, Titan said in a post that the save feature in 8.7.9 doesnt work for about 10% of players, im in the same boat as you here. It is being worked on for the next version

Mastering jobs works as follows:
When you reach level 50 on any hero class, you become a master of that job which gives you + 20 to all stats. Mastering a job also gives you 750 hp, 250 mana and 15 damage, this bonus is applied to all jobs. When you reach level 100 you become an ultimate master, this gives you +150 to all stats, and gives you 2500 hp, 1000 mana and 75 damage.

So if you get your squire to level 100, when you change to a knight he has 2500 more hp, 1000 more mana and 75 more damage

if you master 4 classes, you will get 10000 hp, 4000 mana and 300 damage as a bonus to the next class you wish to pick.

I'm not sure if you guys know the first problem with the load system in 0.8.7.9, but when you start the game you have to -save first, then you are free to -load your code. Just an odd bug, but important to know about.

what version is the real 8.7.9 or 8.8 i am confuse

People don't read, people don't search, people don't THINK these days...

Both versions - 0.8.8 and 0.8.7.9 are official. The differences are:

- 0.8.8 has 2 new heroes and old save/load system (1-2-3-4 etc.)
- 0.8.7.9 is the newest to date version, doesn't have 2 new chars which 0.8.8 does, and has new save/load system (PomX58 etc.)
- you can load codes from 0.8.8 in 0.8.7.9
- you can't load code from 0.8.7.9 in 0.8.8

So basically it's just to decide whether you want 2 new heroes or not.

but in the 8.9 version will read codes of the 2 versions or only one 8.7.9 or 8.8 will read the 2 or only the new system
