What exactly do you mean depending on range units? like if you only buy range units from the base?

I like sieging telen. Destroy the lower left trees/Wall and you got 3 paths in. And the excessively weak units just give you gold gold gold. YAY! Late game all other ranged units=More powerful. So its not too hard to pretty much take babysteps in and devour telen. And if you got heros that teleport in, frost nova, or chain lightning.. they eat through the low HPS like butter. Poor telen. Plus, Snow has a newfound love for mines. I think the last 5 games, I have bombed the hell out of people. Ask cupid. I defended Shamania with 4 shredders and about 8 base units from about 30+ tauren... after the towers were about dead and the tauren were already IN the base. Mines=Hardcore! (Dont mind the frost nova's in there too.)

Oh and I have to buy two of them damned supply depots now, or have an ally w/ shared control to supply enough mines. Haha. why only 2 of them!

I chose Hellmouth.
Ever since the arrival of Spitter Lisks I've been great with Hellmouth, they're pretty good ranged units, especially if they have good tanks to absorb the damage. Besides, defending Hellmouth is easy (especially with normal bases, because you know where your enemy is coming from), if you use scouts you'll have a huge benefit over your enemy.

Earlier Junior asked how the Springs of Aldun were good, I think it's a good base personally. The Ents are the key, that and you get ranged base spawns. The Ents are expensive, and I think Leo just slowed them down or something (check the change log in the thread with the newest versions), but they're worth it (or at least used to be, I haven't used them since they've been changed). They're tanks that are good against troops (unlike the Corrupted Ents which are good against buildings).

I don't like Tradewinds as of late. I've never really used it or Gapbreak or Tai Rocks, but Master Warriors are too cheap, especially with Crassus. I wish there was more of a turnaround or consequence of using mass teleport, because otherwise it's abused. If you're using Mass Teleport and Master Warriors, you've got a steady, fast stream of strong reinforcements, no one else can pull that off (at least in an attack, unless they spend a lot of money and plan far ahead).

another good range base i think is any of the gray bases. You get snipers attack up and there are amazing and they mian u can get layers of archers such as axe throwers, rifle men, snipers, and mortars.
