PoLlama.com is switching software!

What does this mean? It means that we are going from free forum software (SimpleMachines), to a paid kind (vBulletin). vBulletin offers many more features, styles, and etc. Should also be more reliable, I’m sure most of you will be happy with this decision.

At about 12:00pm today the move-over was made, so any posts, edits, or etc on our older forum will not be moved over.

So what do I have to do?

All posts, topics, and most information have made it across safely. However, because of the way SimpleMachines encodes passwords, ALL PASSWORDS HAVE BEEN RESET. If you have a valid e-mail, you can retrieve your account by using the Lost Password System. If for some reason you do not want to use, or cannot use, the lost password system, you will have to use the method below.

If you do not have a valid e-mail, or you cannot use the lost password system, you will have to contact me through Private Message (so I know it is you) on our SMF forum which will be located at http://www.old.pollama.com. I will then manually reset your password for you and reply with the new, which you may change at any time.

Anything Else?

Unfortunately, in the move-over, attachments were lost. It is also possible that profile information and more, were also lost. We will keep the old forum online at http://www.old.pollama.com so that you may retrieve anything you need to.

Vbulletin is pricey,

then again, we're using it too =\. InvisionFree is much better than this SMF however..it has a much bigger fan-base and more users, and also more coded addons =|

What exactly does this mean? In the announcement it sounds as if you already made the transfer. Also I simply bookmarked pollama.com where I'm already logged in. Does this apply to me?

MrApples tried both InvisionFree and SMF. And he liked SMF better. And also I also like SMF much better because it's better overall.

Well, i think that on VBulletin we need some mods, themes, and stuff BEFORE the switch. Otherwise, Everyone will get lost! Let's make this an "Ideas for Vbulletin" topic now. I think that we should have this dark theme on it, or something similar. There should be an unread topics page, the normal pollama smilies, and a karma system, at least! And can the user's stuff be on the side of the post? It was confusing with them on the top!

The Staff of PoLlama is already picking themes and mods out the day before the switch was even made. You have to know that setting a forum up is not easy. Let alone moving forums.

Also they do have a karma system. They have the much more advance Rep system.

VBulletin is known to be the best forum software out there. I'm not sure if this is true or not but that's what I heard. But you all know Mr. Zero is smart with these types of things right? And look how happy he was when the word that PoLlama is switching to VBulletin. Now that has to show that VBulletin is really good. So all you need to do is wait.
