Wiki or Permanent Articles?
Would you guys like a Wiki installed for PoLlama Forums (For a example of a wiki, see wikipedia.org) or Permament Articles written by staff for the site, game, and other information/content we will be adding besides whats in the forum?
Permanent Articles would probaly be more slowly updated and added. WOuld not be able to be edited by the public. Let me know what you guys think on this subject. |

Re: Wiki or Permanent Articles?
I like the wiki idea better but let's only let people who are trustable edit it. I don't want a wiki that said, "Ultimate Beserker is a random only hero and he is @$&&^$@*#$!%%$ ^#^%%% rigged. So anyone who ever get's him is gay. Blah blah blah. You know guys who spam are not the people you want editing the wiki. Or the Pollamki or any other name you give it. Willama? Poki? Pollaki? Pollama's wiki? Wiki Pollama? Pollampedia? Some good name instead of the plan wikipedia.

Re: Wiki or Permanent Articles?
sounds good but i agree with shadow. you should allow everyone to edit at first but if someone changes something into somethign stupid then they should lose this privilage. actually this sounds great. finally a way to look at how people play with other heroes without scrolling through tons of avatars and other crap.

Or even design a system that sends the 'edit' to an area to be inspected before it is accepted. To reduce the retarded people who think they are cool for using profanity at the wrong times and in the wrong places.

Re: Wiki or Permanent Articles?
Usually at least one mod/admin is on everyday. I think its a matter of which if its possible. The checking proccess is probably the best way to go if wiki content is chosen.

Re: Wiki or Permanent Articles?
I say we made a closed (as in closed for the public to edit) wiki.

Re: Wiki or Permanent Articles?
Well...
1) wikipedia isnt reliable in all senses 2) Last time i edited by schools wiki, i was suspended for 3 days after wiki emailed the principal.. The point is, there is no problem with haveing an open wiki, as long as it can easily be monitored, as such the way of putting it in a 'hold' section. Where as it must be approved by a mod/admin to be added.

Re: Wiki or Permanent Articles?
I think that we should have the info right here at the site.
It would A) convince n00bs that this is the official ultf site, not ultf.tk B) probably be easier to do I would be willing to help

Re: Wiki or Permanent Articles?
I still say wiki because it has more of a good feeling for me. Don't know why but if I could do research on school projects on wikipeida then I would. But keep limits like getting it approved by a admin or moderator first. But wikipedia is good on popular games because many people come to see them and many people edit them so if someone stupid comes along and write something dumb then it gets corrected pretty fast.

Re: Wiki or Permanent Articles?
Really depends if the majority of the people here want people's opinion on topics/articles or factual resources without bias.

Re: Wiki or Permanent Articles?
I think that having it here would promote this as the official site (which it is)

http://www.pollama.com/index.php?act...=submitarticle
Theres been a article submission up for a while, just never made a big deal of it. So while i'm looking into adding a wiki those of you writers can start. Also articles may be submitted in pure XHTML. |
